Treo 650 Random soft resets... deleted all 3rd party apps

I just got my Treo 650 and have been having problems with random soft resets and occasional locked screen. At first I thought it might be one of my downloaded applications causing the problem so I deleted the 3rd party apps one by one without any luck. I finally resorted to a hard reset and haven't loaded any new applications, but I'm still getting the random soft resets. Any ideas? Or do I have a bum Treo?

Do you know if you have a new sim card tray? There's a little ridge right in the middle if it's a new tray. They had a problem with sim cards moving around too much and resetting the phone...

A reset now and then might be due to the firmware.

I could tolerate now and then, but the phone resets about every other time I use it.

Did you look to see if you have the bad SIM tray?

SIM tray has the ridge on the inside. I also tried the paper trick in case, but it didn't work.

Unfortunately this is not uncommon. I got the exact same thing on my 650 (unlocked GSM version, using it with TMo) and it got so bad that Palm replaced it. New one: same exact thing. I even have zero 3rd party apps. Zilch. Still have these ridiculous issues. Oh, and yes, I have the latest firmware and the newer SIM tray.

I'm bolting for the BB 8700t or the Nokia E61 as soon as I can.

Well it could be due to a firmware issue, also it might have to do with the cache, look for DBcachetool on www.treocentral.com and it could help

Got my new Treo yesterday. Working flawlessly now. I'm starting to slowly adding 3rd party apps. It was definitely a hardware issue with my old phone.
