Treo 650 Conferencing - Hidden Problem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi

Just set up Treo 650 on Cingular and noticed a disturbing problem that could have potential for great embarrassment. It appears that conferencing can be established when you are on one call and a call waiting call is answered and the screen conference button is inadvertently hit. This feature will connect the both incoming calls together. Historically, conferencing could not be established with two incoming calls. The party wishing to make the conference must dial the other call. Is there a way to turn off this conferencing "feature" or the conferencing completely in the phone or from the Cingular end.

Thanks

Why don't you just go to preferences and disable the touch screen when using the phone? By the way, this used to happen to me with my Nokia 6620 just by answering a call on the other line. The party on the other end would hear my conversation.

Called Cingular and they were able to disconnect the three way calling feature from the service.

Thanks for your help
