Razr on T-Mobile- Getting "Connection Unsuccessful" Response for Email only

As the subject line says, I'm getting an error msg when I try to send and receive email ONLY on the razr.

I have been able to use this feature previously on the phone using gmail. I haven't changed any setting and was wondering if anyone else was getting this problem.

I can use the browser with no problems but an attempt to connect to the network fails when I send and receive email.

What I do notice that is strange is that when I go to my browser settings (done via tmobile configurator), the GPRS APN is wap.voicestream.com and there is a user name (MotV3) and a password. Is this new? I always see this as blank everywhere for both user name and password.

can anyone check under their web sessions if the GPRS section has a user/password for T-Mobile Razrs?

I have my ISP settings under email msg setup as:

Connection Type:GPRS
APN address: wap.voicestream.com
User name:a
Password:a
DNS IP: 0.0.0.0

I don't use Gmail but my road runner email and it works

gmail works on my v3 without data plan at all.
