you can get free transferring software from motomodders.net which is free to register by the way

i use p2kcommander v.3.2.9 which is freeware. i already had the drivers needed, but if you don't, click on autostart.exe instead of pk2commander.exe and i think it will install those for you. you will get a file manager with two panes. use the left pane to connect to your phone and the right pane to your pc. i think this is easier, faster, and probably a little more dangerous than motorola phone tools, but if you are careful not to accidentally delete any files from your phone, you should be fine.
