"how many pics can be stored on the phone?"

You can store 36 pictures in your camera gallery, but you can email them off the phone to have more storage (I often email them to myself, then delete them from the camera gallery - your email box can store up to 6MB)

"can I delete them from the phone?"

Yes

"can I send and recieve picture messages?"

If you mean MMS, no, the device doesn't support MMS. You can send/receive pictures through the email client (and send them to MMS enabled phones by using the other person's MMS/email address)

" can i lock my photos from other people?"
"can i lock my text and picture messages from people so they cant read
them?"

There's a privacy lock feature that lets you lock your device so that other people can't access your data, however, you can't lock specific bits of data. I.e, if you wanted to let someone use your device to play a game or to make a phone call, there's no way of locking "pictures" or "email". You can lock your device so that nobody other than you can access it, or it's unlocked and everything is open.

It also needs to be said that even with a flash, the camera doesn't exactly pickup light the best..... you can probably see from looking around at other people's phone pics (you can tell which ones were sidekicks.)

The camera and the MMS messaging is really the 2 lacking things about it. Hopefully Sidekick 3 will fix that.
