T-Mo RAZR, flashed, now Cingular roam??

Yesterday I flashed my T-Mobile branded RAZR with Motox's latest 003 language stock Moto Monster pack (R374_G_0E.42.0ER_PDS005_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0 E_V3_01_0AR_SE8617MXXF1126_1FF.shx), and reflashed with latest reflash (R374_G_0E.42.0ER_reflash.shx).

Now the phone always displays "Cingular" (instead of T-Mobile) and at the top of the screen it shows the green triangle roaming symbol. When I search for other networks, T-Mobile doesn't even come up. I have never roamed on Cingular before, and as far as I know, roaming on Cingular is not even allowed where I am. Am I actually roaming?

Are there any stock Moto Monster Packs, flexlashes, or anything that will have normal results with a T-Mobile RAZR? Thank you for any help!

Have u ever thought that you probaly WERE roaming on Cingular before you flashed, just your carrier (t-mo) had customized the software on your phone to HIDE this from you...

I didn't think about that. But I don't think that was happening, because with the T-Mobile firmware, I can search for networks and it finds T-Mobile and Cingular. And when I tried to use Cingular, it didn't allow it. With the stock Moto firmware I used from Motox, searching for networks did not result in any T-Mobile results, but two listings for Cingular. Very strange.

its possible the flash may have disabled one of your bands, ie 850 or 1900 and most likely because of that you cant see the second network, i donno cus i dont live where u are and dont have that many details on how teh networks work in your area but my theory may be correct.

There is nothing to worry about in CA/NV

Cingular originally shared it's network with T-Mobile. In order for T-Mobile to display in CA/NV the phones have to be EONS capable otherwise it will display Cingular & roaming. You will not be charged roaming fees because you are not roaming to the network just appears that way to the phone. The reason has to do with 310-260 is the home network on the sim. Also since Cingular / T-Mobile tower is still broadcasting 310-170 from it's networks - the phone will recognize 310-170 as Cingular and not T-Mobile.

I believe a seem edit to have the phone display network name from sim as opposed to phone and you can turn off roaming indicator. Will regain T-Mobile with the stock flex.

When your phone still had T-Mobile flex and you did network search it showed"

T-Mobile 310-170
Cingular 310-380 - which you can't roam on since this use to be AT&T Wireless

Now with the stock flex

Cingular 310-170 - will allow you on the original network shared with T-Mobile
Cingular 310-380 - the forbidden network.

Wow, very informative! That answered my question exactly - thank you very much! I've already flexlashed back to T-Mobile, but now I think I'll go stock Moto again. Thanks

ok... i flashed R374_G_0E.42.0ER_PDS005_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0 E_V3_01_0AR_SE8617MXXF1126_1FF.shx to my razr and alot has changed...

1. all of my ringtones, games, xxx, and skins are gone
+ i can not make short video clips anymore

2. this "orange" thing is WEIRD... some of the things are in this freaky language
what is it... like some freaky network in another country?!?!?!

3. on my list of networks it USED to say Centennial, Roam 2, Roam 3
now it says Centennial, Cingular, T-mobile
i never knew Centennial didnt have a leg to stand on
i can connect to Centennial and T-mobile but i cant get on Cingular for some reason...
