and use it on cingular and it gets defected or breaks would cingular replace this phone if I had insurance? This will be the determining factor if I should get this phone.

No cingular will not insure the v635 since they dont support it in the USA but motorola has told me they would be able to repair broken v635 as long as they have parts for it and under warrenty.
