Yes, you're right. I sent my 6230b with the infamous BT problem to XBM three times before I decided to send it to Nokia instead. Still, I had to send it to Nokia 3 times too until they decided they couldn't upgrade to a newer firmware because if was a Cingular-branded phone and they offered a trade: a 6620. I turned it down, complained, sent letters, etc... Until I got what I wanted: a 7610, which I have been using for almost a year now.

Hey, you cannot have your cake and eat it! It's the older firmware. If I start to have problems (I haven't read here enough to know what these problems are), I will send it to Cingular for upgrade. I'd take it somewhere else where they'd also unlock it, but I would void the warranty and I really have no use for an unlocked phone as of yet.
