ERP Migration Madness

ok so the erp migration has come for my area, so its time that i moved from my attws employee plan to the erp. i waited till after xmas to do this cause id have more money for my fone but this has been the worst experience ever. heres my story

first off, a while back my entire floor, (im a call center rep), recieved an email that was very straight forward sayin that no unlocked equipment can be used with the erp due to problems that it could cause with roaming, and if it did cause this, we would owe the money. this was news to me seeing as ive never heard of this, so naturally i came here to find out from others like me, and of course was told this was a bunch of bs. so i figured id use my existing smt5600 blue fone that was unlocked for my migration. now i see that upon tryin to fill out the form it asks for the imei#, and go figure everyone tells me yeah u cant put an unlocked attws fone imei # in there cause the migration will be denied. so i say fine and take the plunge and order the blackberry8700c from the NEAS website. this was 7 days ago. still nothing has arrived at my work. so i say screw it, ill just go to a store and buy it outright at the normal 30% discount we get for employees and then can do the migration and then cancel the order from NEAS. WRONG. all the stores i go to give me the runaround some sayin it cant be done, some sayin it can but needs a manager to approve, and some say it can but i have to already be on the cingular erp first before i can purchase the fone. and on top of that they wouldnt even give me a sim card either, sayin that they had no way to ring it up cuase i didnt technically have the orange acct yet, but they werent even gonna charge me for it anyways.

so now here i am, i cant do my erp migration due to no sim card and no orange imei#... and i cant purchase all that in a local store cause i have no erp orange acct. this is driving me nutz and on top of all this, i have till the end of the week for this all to go through or else they cancel my acct and i lose my number.

anyone with any ideas r similar problems, please let me know anything u might know or anything i can do to get around this. im in the orlando, fl area, if any store reps know anything either please post here..... otherwise thanks for letting me rant

Thats such BS. We just finished our migration and we werent told any of that. I was originally going to migrate with my unlocked x426, but I decided it was time for me to get a new phone.
As for those stores saying it cant be done, they must be former blue stores. I cant get my discount at one of those either without a manager manually putting it into the system, and they often arent there or refuse to do it too. You can purchase your equipment and sim inside a COR store. If they give you crap, take their name and give it to your manager to contact the market liason.

I personally found NEAS to be easier when getting my equipment...too bad I had to pay a deposit!

was this all migrating to the ERP? sad thing is, is that the stores i went to were a mix of former blue and orange stores... just giving me such bs its crazy.... im glad u have had good luck with NEAS, but since working for attws, ive been given nothin but trouble with there policys and slow work, ive just had enough of them.

when u were purchasing urs was this the purchase while u made the switch from blue to orange? cause the most common thing that i get is that purchases can be done no problem but i have to have an orange acct already, and thats my main problem, is that im still blue tryin to go to orange but they still wont do anything... grrrr such bs... anyways im gonna call the store accross the street tomorr and talk to the manager and see whats up cause this is crazy... who knows how long before NEAS gets there sh_it together

NEAS and COU are a joke. it took me almost 2 months to get my COU account. they kept denying it over and over.

just email the ERP for your area from the ERP site. tell them what you want and they should be able to help you. the link is on the erp website.

You must not know how things operate or work in the COR stores. There are policies setup by Cingular that we must follow or its our jobs. First off you can not just sell a SIM card, it must be activated on a account, therefore you need a orange account to do this.

Have you heard of OPUS or even used it, probably not...

Then each market of Cingular has different policies regarding how each store operates, some stores are not allowed to give employee discounts to anyone but the employees of that store.

Then there is a cap to how many phones and accessories you can buy with a employee discount, there is no way that retail can verify this information, this is why your manager must sign off any discount given to you so Cingular can verify whether you have hit your cap or not.

So before ranting and raving and starting negativity about the stores find out what procedure is first and never assume things like some of our more ignorant customers.

Ive been able to go into an orange store and buy a sim card before, as well as several of my co-workers. I have never had any problems in the market that I am in getting a sim card or a phone from a COR store. It may be how YOUR market works, but the stores I go to in my area, they will only turn an employee away if theyre a former blue store and they cannot do the employee discount.

As for using OPUS, CS doesnt use it, but I do know what it is.

So, before you start a flame war, you *might* want to take some of your own advice. Like you said, markets are different in how they handle things. I, for one, have NEVER had a problem going into a store and getting what I need. The OP wanted someone's experience in migrating to ERP, not a troll fest.

Your own ignorance is causing the issue, you started the flame with attacking the retail employees inparticular blue stores. Understand how things work before you start a tangent.

Once again, I posted my experience which is what the OP wanted. I stated how it was handled in the blue store I went to in my region which is different than yours. Is that hard to grasp?

did you specify "customer facing/Quota bearing" in your request reason. They deny the request without having this in the other information field.

well it looks like my order from NEAS might finally be processing. here we are like week and a half later and they called me today and confirmed the order to be processed... stupid NEAS taking forever, oh well should hopefully have my fones soon, hooray this is finally coming to an end

Posted by: NukuCamui

NEAS took awhile for some folks who did it late when we migrated. I guess everyone is jumping on it fast on your end. I started early and got my phone pretty quick while a few others didnt get their phone shipped until almost a week later.

Posted by: coreycore02

yeah well the start date for us to migrate was like 11/24 i believe, and like many i was foolishly waiting for the 8125 to come out and grab that up in no time.... now almost 2 months later, and realizing that its more delayed till feb, i had to do it kinda late (plus i waited for xmas to pass so my new fone wouldnt be on the same credit card bill from xmas). oh well, hopefully ill have a confirmation in my email today that the order was processed and on route to me

Posted by: coreycore02

so i officially want to kill NEAS now.

they messed up my order beyond belief. i checked my order yesterday and it said it was waiting shipping confirmation but for 64.00$. def not the correct amount. so i called them and waited on hold for 30 min to have them look into it and viola....... they ordered 2 effing nokia 6010s refurb!!! my order was to include one 6010 refurb and my blackberry8700c.... OMG i am soooo pissed. and now the woman was like im sorry it was plain human error, what ull have to do is wait or them to arrive, then wait for return labels, then send one back, then email some guy in NEAS for him to track the IMEI, and once its found in the warehouse, then and only then can i submit a new order for the 8700c.

i was like r u serious? so not only is my order late as it is by over a week, ur gonna make me wait more, then wait some more, then return the fone, then wait some more, then submit a new order, and then wait some more!!! christ, by the time its all done itll prolly be february for sure if not later. i couldnt for life of me understand y on earth i couldnt just order the 8700 right now so thered be no waiting and when the one 6010 comes in ill just ship it back.......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

i will never ever use NEAS again

good thing my sup is smart and told me a trick around this bs. once the fones come in, ill activate my erp with just the sim cards, then send the fone back but keep the sim, then once the erp is on, i can just walk into a corp store and buy the d@mn thing there.....

ugh

when i finaly moved over to the erp, i had two lines still under contract with att, i was able to migrate over, of course in asking other employees and managers about if i could keep my numbers or if i would get any etf's i always got different info, and west erp would never answer my emails, when i did finally migrate over, after purchasing news phones...two razr's...i had to get two new phone numbers, they said my numbers were not eligible to migrate to the erp, they had to be new, so i got new numbers, called into att billing, explained what happened, and got out of the etf's, i also had got charged for my sim cards at one corp. store, but then went to another one, and they refunded me what i paid for those, i wasnt happy at firts at having to change my numbers because we had had them for a long time, but overall i dont care about that anymore, i like my new numbers..i think erp needs to give better info when we sign up...

Sure can just sell a SIM card. In fact, back in the days of market specific sims, it was common practice.

Also happens quite a bit in regards to corporate accounts.
