Hi, i want to buy a new housing for my motorola v400, but it is a v551 housing and ive heard that it can be put on the v400 as an upgrade. Also, the earpiece does not work well, so i hope this could fix the problem. Anyone know how much it would cost for someone at the cingular store to change the housing? It the full housing

oh also its prepaid and unlocked thats y i have tmobile to go, and im wondering any way i can get internet on it. I can go into tzones but when i try to go to url session or go to url it says connection unsucsesful and its always said that. Thanks

oh also i have the usb data cable..so is there anyway i can get aim to my phone? wat other things can i send to my phone? Like programs? i have already made custom ringtones and stuff but i was wondering if there was anyway to get AIM? thanks

Highly doubt that a Cingular store will do the housing swap. When I had my V400 replaced the housing quite a few times and it was a easy swap. You just have to pay attention to where everything goes. You could probably find instructions on the web to swap the housing and probably give you a step by step. The speaker isn't that expensive. Check out cnn.cn to see if they have the earpiece speaker...shouldn't cost you too much. You will need a T6 screwdriver to get the screws and thats pretty much all I could help with the dissasembly part.

If you have a data cable you could flash the phone with another flash and that might have AIM on it. Look around the web to see if there is a seem you can edit and enable the AIM. Shouldn't be hard after you do alittle reading if it is possible.

Have you sent the correct settings to your phone for tzones? Under the TMobile forum the first sticky has a settings configurator and you can send the correct settings to your phone. You might have to use the V600 settings instead of the V400...or V300 since the V300 and 600 is what T-Mobile use to carry.

I would say I could swap it out for you but I am not local near you and I highly doubt you would want to ship your phone to me...

But just do a search or check out motox.info and read up on Seem editing and flashing...

umm ok i tried everything but my phone whenever i try to go to a url it says my phone does not support this plan? so does that mean no prepaid phone could search the web?

To be honest I don't know...I have never used T-Mobile prepay or know anyone that has it. If you try to connect to the web does it send you to the tzones webpage?

T-Mobile To Go does not have unlimited WAP. You can only go to what they give you.

I have a v505 and had bought the ALL black housing for it. My parents had approached me stating that they're going to upgrade to the v557 since we've been with at&t for 4 years now. Can I use the v505 all black housing I bought on the v557? I hope so because that would be a waste of $23. And I don't want to get my v505 unlocked just to put the cingular sim in, when I can get a phone with more memory and better camera quality.

You have to use the keypad frame from the v557 because it has a different layout, but that's the only solution I can think of. Maybe you can mix and match to make your v557 black and silver.

What I'd probably do (a'la the dark grey V547 flip mod to the V551) is use the V557 body, the black V557 battery cover, the black/silver V557 outside flip and your V505 black inside flip. Swap the antenna for a black V600/V620 antenna and I think it'd look pretty sharp.
