I cannot seem to be able to get .mp3 tones to work (error at end of load) and also tried .wav got an error. I have explored harrythompson.com and got nothing. I have tried to explore searching here and got nothing. These .wav files are like 2.5mb, compared to 120kb .mp3

What am I doing wrong? I am using webjal. I used audacity to edit mp3's into wav, then razerlame to convert back to mp3's. I am using an i730 data cable, works on my bros i860.

Somebody plz guide me.

First, I don't know if the i760 can do mp3 ringtones. Wavs for sure, but not sure about mp3s. Second, don't convert from mp3 to wav and back to mp3, you lose quality everytime you convert. Use Adobe Audition instead of Audacity, you can save it directly into the right format the first time through. Lastly, are you saving them in the right format? Wavs have to be 8000Hz, 8-bit, mono. Mp3s have to be 48 or 32 Kbps CBR, 8000Hz, mono.

Okay, I have tested a .wav file in 8000hz, 8-bit mono, the file was 120kb at 64kbps. It does work in my phone.

I want my own sounds.

With Audition, I cannot seem to figure out how to get it to 64kbps, it only saves at 256. What am I doing wrong?

Wow, after talking on the phone with a friend (which took him a grueling week to figure it out), I got it to work with mp3s. He finally gave me one of his ringtones that was known to work, and it worked. I had a general comm error everytime until then.

I used adobe audition, saved the clips as ACM wavs 8000hz, 8-bit, mono, 7kbps. The files ended up at 64kbps and for 30 seconds were about 240kb. I am still confused, but whatever, it works.
