I noticed that my V555 has Network setup options of Band, Type, and Speed. The default settings were set to:
Band: Automatic
Type: Automatic
Speed: Medium

I wonder if changing these will help me aquire a signal quicker or get better reception?

Should I change the bad to 850/1900 since that is all my network uses?

And also should I change the Speed to Fast or Continuous?

Does anyone know what this speed setting does?

The speed setting determines how fast the phone will look for a network or for a different network. The higher you set this, the more quickly you will move to a more 'preferred' network (list is stored on SIM). Of course, the higher you set this, the worse your battery life is. If you're in an area with a generally strong signal and just one network (ie, you don't need to bounce between two networks like the Cingular orange and blue networks) then set this to slow to save battery life. If you're in a fringe service area, you may want to search quicker so your time with "No Service" is minimal.
