The SX833 doesn't support AAC ringtones or MP3 ringtones, as far as I know. It has the same restrictions as the JP firmware. Only the Euro firmware lets you set either file as a ringtone.

i chop and convert my Ringtones, it come out in Melody format, but it still sound like mp3s or ACCs , just the quality is not that good, and i amped up the volume on the ring tone, and it works alright for me, and it works pretty good for trance

the trick works to a certain extent. you need to use wap with the trick i believe. i forget. kind of troublesome tho. if you don't need the chinese support, i'd go change your firmware to Euro. much easier to deal with.

if u dont want to flash ur phone, use video ringtone instead. Quick and easy ^^

The SX833 i have does support MP3 playback but as yours, doesn't support AAC (even though the SX833 site says it supports AAC and AAC+)

To make ringtones, you'll have to find a program to shorten the track to a useable size for ringtones...i just got the phone but haven't gotten a chance yet to assign MP3s as ringtones..but i have used MP3s and played them back.

convert it to 3gp. drag and drop, will give you mp3 quality as well.
