Hey guys,

For all you A920 users, can you tell me what version your PRL is? want to see if bell changed it to include EV-DO.

And since this phone comes with Datacable, have you guys tried UniPST with it?

Now if someone can try to get the prl off the phone. I've seen issues with people not having drivers, ill work on finding a set.

65535 cannot be prl, system id but bells system id should be 16420.

prl tells the phone which networks to use and which ones to roam on. Were you the one with roaming problems? looks like somethings wrong with the sysid on your phone.

yes yes.. AND IT DOES SAY THATS MY PRL. DID THE GUY PROGRAM IT WRONG.. CUZ I JUST CHECK AND THAT IS MY PRL, .. MAYBE THATS THE ROAMING PROB I HAVE? BUT ONLY IN LOW SIGNAL AREAS.. HELP HELP

SAMSUNG A 920.. MENU # (SETTINGS, 8 (PHONE INFO, 3 (VERSION = PRL 65535(WHAT IS THAT?) S = ES.A920 YL07 (MUST BE SOFTWARE) H: A920.06 (MUST BE HARDWARE), NOW HIT BACK AND 4 (ADVANCED), SID = 1642 CHANNEL = 0375, TECHNOLOGY : DIGITAL , FREQUENCY: 1.9GHZ.

prl 65535, is diff from my sid 1642, mau108 said somthing about it being 16420 .. im missing a 0 and my prl is diff from my SID.. any help?

hmm weird PRL man. SID is fine at 16420 but that PRL if from an a920 should be 31010.

did you fak with your phone lol? Go back to bell and tell them about the roaming problems and you checked with your buddies phones and the SID and the PRL seem to be different on your phone.

i have had a a920 since dec 27, my prl reads 31010. is that good?

Heheh... you get to roam on telus' network for free because Bell can't figure out the problem... and they can't charge you either until they do, if I were you I'd keep quiet and take advantage of the situation

Shut the **** up, it does not matter, once the prob is fixed it'll just resort to the 850mhz network and it wont make a diff. (suck my nuts)

do u know how i can change the prl? i have the BMC - OTSL nam programming page for the sph-a920, which gets me to the SVC menu. the ## SML menu.. is it in there?

nah it hink you'd need to pull the prl off another a920 (which I could use aswell as you see from this post lol) but on top of that you need the datacable and correct software to load it onto the phone.

I believe for samsungs its UniPST. Post in the samsung forum and ask around for software that will let you upload a PRL. Hopefully someone else on this forum can pull the prl (with the same software I guess) and host it for us (you can email it to me and illl host it).

well its wrong, 65535 is the default code, 31010 is what you should have.

I can give you the PRL off my phone its a bit older, but only problem is unipst doesnt have the dlls for the a920

NP man. i just went back to bell word and asked for a new one, (he does not have one) so i got my 15 day money back garrentee, and went to BB (he had 3) and got it there.. Strange though.

Ok.. not ONLY is the roaming working (not roaming anymore) and the prl is now 31010, ALSO the EVDO now flipen works. B4 it was not working man. (b4 = samsung H:a920.05) now (now=samsung H:a920.06) it works fine. And man is it fast. (menu #, 8, 3) Prl and S: ver and H:ver.

glad to see you decided to go the best buy route and grab it from them. which store did you visit? because our initials shipments were only 3 per store and i know mine (oakville) was sold out due to staff trading up for it hehe.

i also checked my version and it shows the same, so thats good we're on the same page. (i've only had my a920 for one whole day now)

anyone know how to get google local and opera mini working on it? I saw in a previous thread someone had downloaded opera mini to it, but it gives me an error in the download process.

maybe someone could try and let me know, wap to www.opera.com and www.google.com/glm for google local

Ya man.. the old one i had (with roaming issue. a920.05) worked.. i dont remember if i used oper mini web sit. or rumkin to get it on there.. darn. but it worked..

also sometimes in rumkin i get a 905 or a 906 error. depending on the file. .. that also happend with the old phone.

ya i'm getting a 905 error for both google local and opera mini when getting it from the official sites

would you happen to have the java files for both? I can't seem to find opera mini in the usual places.

Just to a search.. theres a post for a jump code of opera high mem... also be fast , jump codes last 2-3 days.. if that.

ya i found the beta linked on some mobile forum somewhere, i didn't see the post with the jump code but i got high mem working great now!

Opera Mini is sooo sweet!

Now i just need Google Local to work! (the ones i've found on torrents just crash , they don't lauch, all versions, midp1, p2, andp2-f)

if anyone has gotten their Google Local jar files to work please let me know, or if they have a newer version out there somewhere please post a jump code
