Data transfer rate - 2125 vs 8125

According to the official 2125 thread, the data rate on it is between 70 and 135kbps. All I can find on the 8125 is that it is EDGE class 10, just like the 2125.
Is the 2125 limited in any way, CPU or otherwise, that would hinder it's data transfer rate when compared to the 8125? I'm just talking EDGE here, not WiFi.
What I'm wondering is, should I wait around for the 8125 or just buy a normal PPC and tether it via Bluetooth to the 2125?
