VX6100 - Can I download a ringtone from the web?

I'm not really interested in purchasing a data cable and going the BitPim route. I can get on the Internet using my WAP proxy server, so I was wondering if I could download a ringtone file that way in order to set it as a ringtone.

I have uploaded .mid files to the server, and if I navigate the the file, I can listen to it when in the browser, but I'm not sure if it's possible to save it to my "Downloaded Files" folder. It's kinda funny/frustrating to be able to listen to the file on my phone, but not be able to save it.

LG VX6100, Verizon
WAP gateway is Squid running on Fedora Core 3

How do thoes Ringtone websites deliver a ring tone? It seems they send a sms message to the user and the message contains a download link. The user click the link to get the ringtone or wallpaper. Are those ringtone websites using wap?
