well ive searched for about an hour or so and am more confused than i was before. i just purchased a motorola e815 (verizon) and when i got home i realized the the data cable from my i95 (nextel) fits the new phone. i think the program i used for the 95 was webjal? or *****? or something like that. i know it is just for nextel phones so what i am looking for is a simple program like the one i used in the past that i can use to transfer 2 mp3s from my pc to my new phone using the old cable. i dont want to spend too much money for transferring 2 songs. so this "MPT" i have been reading about is not the option i want to go. by the way... the cable is not a usb, it is a serial port? cable. i am using windows xp. and the song is my father singing a song to my grand kids so i cant just buy it from verizon.

any help would be greatly appreciated,

A Week Ago I Was Totally New To Phone Modding But Using These Web Sites I Managed To Flash My Phone, Install New Java Apps And Upload Skins.

While the cable you are using might fit correctly, it probably isn't going to work. My advice would be to get an OEM data cable made for your phone. That will save you a lot of headaches.

The cables for the I series phones will NOT work with any other motorola phone. The pinout is different even though it looks the same.

There are 2 ways to get mp3's onto the phone. You can take the memory card out and use a USB card reader to copy mp3's to the memory card. Or, you can use MPT and a cable to copy files to the phone memory or memory card. Verizon's version of the E815 will NOT let you use MPT to copy files, though.
