Help, broken SMT 5600!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Okay, so I dropped my smt 5600 and now can't see a thing on the screen (just a graph like image and it's white/black), the buttons won't work (I can't make outgoing calls, but can receive calls), the power button works to turn on, but not off and that's about it.

I was told I broke my LCD which sounds about right, however will a replacement LCD correct the other issues (buttons not working)?

Also, would anybody recommend replacing it myself, if so is there a tuturial out there? I found this one for dust removal http://www.digimission.com/?page_id=25

about a month ago, i bought a SMT5600 ACCESSORY AND PARTS REPLACMENT KIT from eBay from a user named 'mikejohn'.

the kit somes with the original box, which is exactly the same as the box i received from Cingular when i bought my phone.
also contains the charger, mini USB cable, carry case, battery, stereo earphones, camera, LCD screen and the phone casing itself (no internals - just the case).

since Cingular doesnt provide insurance for this model phone, i decided to buy this package cause if i crack my screen, drop my phone, etc. i'll have the parts to replace it with.
so i should be really careful NOT to damage the internals, as i dont have those parts.

oh, before i forget, the package also came with a CD. several hundred megs worth of apps, games, and utilities, to use with my phone.

all for $59.99 + $20 shipping.
the sellers name is mikejohn123. hit him up if you need something like this.

here is his eBay store

Actually I just won an auction on the very same package (minus the CD with all those cool apps) for $26 USD from another ebay store. I also hooked up with one of the sponsors here and they charge $10 to replace an LCD in Toronto.

So, here a question to you, what's a copy of that CD worth to ya?
