On a Treo 650 when you get an incoming call it pops up two buttons on the screen [answer] and [ignore].... In the past I've been able to touch the answer button and it answers pretty quick, but now it seems to take 4-6 seconds and sometimes doesn't answer it quick enough and they go to my voice mail. This just started last week and I havent updated anything or installed anything since Dec 12th.

Anyone else ever expeirence this? I really REALLY dont want to do a hard reset and re-install everything, but if this is the only fix for it then I guess I will. Any suggestions? I've re-calibrated my screen/stylus already and that didn't help. My screen protector has been on there for about 4 months now, could it be getting too old or some dirt under it? I wouldn't think it'd be that though since it does eventually answer so it's getting contact.

Have you done a SOFT reset recently?

If not, do one.

Yeah, I usually end up having to do a soft reset atleast every 2nd or 3rd day due to a bluetooth issue. So, yeah I've done several soft resets and even pulled the battery a few times.

Wow...that's odd then.

You know, on a hard reset, that your HotSync'd stuff should install when you sync. It shouldn't be THAT big of a deal if you have to do one.

Well, looks like a hard reset may be what I do later tonight if I get some time. I usually sync with bluetooth, will that work to restore my stuff too or should I dig my cable out?

One last question (I'm too lazy to search), how do you do a hard reset?

BT sync should work, but it'll be painfully slow. Dig out the cable.

Hold down the UP on the 5-way, press the reset button (under the bat cover), keep pressing up on the 5-way until you get the 2nd Palm screen, then release.

Well, I just finished!!!!! I didn't only do a hard reset, I updated to the latest firmware from Cingular 1.04 to 1.17.... and I tried for an hour to get my phone to sync with the cable and it never did, so I went the Bluetooth route and it took almost 2 hours!! I guess I'll know later if it fixed the problem. I'll keep you posted.

PS, the menues seem faster.... may be because of the hard reset or may be because of the upgrade??

A bit of both, I'd bet.

It's not hold down "up", it is hold down "power".

Whoops!

Good thing I linked the website...lol. Hate it when that happens.

Well, I found the problem..... I started really thinking about if I'd installed any programs lately and I forgot I downloaded the latest version of mRing directly to my phone about 2 weeks ago, and that's about the time it started. I didn't realize it until I realized that my mRing wasn't enabled when I first started using it and it all worked fine, but after I enabled it the time delay thing started again , I guess I can either live with stock ring tones or go with the mRing mp3 tones and live with the time delay in the answer.

Atleast my phone is updated and I havent had any "BSOD's" (black screen of death) since the update (keeping fingers crossed).
