without the unlimited data plan, $19.99, no rebate. great strategy considering without the unlimited data plan a customer may get charged up to $50 dollars for viewing a 5 minute HBO mobile clip. thats $10.00 / min. the files are huge.

Now, I can't speak for everyone but we all know someone aint gonna add the data package. can you imagine there bill. people are getting 2K bills now for data, they will be pissing fire in a few months.

We need to bring back the old contacts were customers had to initial that they declined a feature at point of sale. may save a headache.

oh i agree.

ill simply note it in the account for every sale.

Trust me, the HBO Mobile on CV is nothing spectacular and the rumor is that it is 2 minute clips and you have to pay for hbo mobile

Ok, I'm sorry, but here comes my rant. Everyone I know has heard this from me. With data at $20/month, and then to pay EXTRA for all these services, Cingular is going to drop off the map. It sucks, and that's a bold statement to make, but think about it. Mobitv, which sucks even on my "high-framerate" 6682, is $10/month, IN ADDITION to unlimited data if you really wanna use it. It's the same thing as making people pay ppu for downloading ringtones or whatever. IF YOU DON"T GIVE THEM ACCESS TO THE CONTENT, IT DOESN"T MATTER HOW GOOD IT IS, THEY WON"T USE IT! Freakin A, Cingular. Every other carrier seems to get it that unlimited internet is a requirement, WHY CAN"T YOU!?

I ask marketing during our last conference call were there any new media bundles coming out to help smooth over the 3g pricing. Answer:

For $29.97 you can get unlimited media net, 40 mms, and 200 text messages.

My response, which by the way was an accident, was you guys suck. So I need to finish writing my apology letter to marketing right now.

Well, I understand the need for the letter, but you're right, that completely sucks, it's not even of any benefit at all, there's no actual discount (unless a joke went over my head). But don't worry, up here in Canada we get jerked around on Data and SMS on Rogers, too.

I don't sell anything less than unlimited data for the same reason that you wouldn't buy anything less than unlimited Internet access (cable/DSL) at your house. It would be ridiculous to not have unlimited. I'll only add it on by request.

That's smart. They should have a spot for it in the activation paperwork. Data overage is potentially much more painful than losing your phone without insurance.

In the days of paper contracts I would just right "Declined" next to features and have them initial in the correct box.

You can get capped internet? I thought that went out with dial-up...
