e815 and Dell 350 Bluetooth

I have modded my e815 to enable bluetooth and OBEX. I can now use the multimedia functions of MPT with the phone - with the USB (although I was very surprised at how slow the transfer is).
My Dell laptop (D610) w/ Win XP Pro SP2 has the Dell 350 Bluetooth thingy (I think that's the technical term). I have the latest and greatest drivers for it (4.x something or other).
It can see my phone, and so can MPT.
It even says it completed the handshake or whatever after I entered the PIN on both the PC and the phone.
However, after that window, MPT shows the phone itself and then says it cannot connect ;-(. I tried all the COM ports for bluetooth and none of them connect.
Furthermore, the Bluetooth itself on the machine can see the phone and offers to let me transfer files TO it (but see what is already there!). But when I try and send a file, it breaks with some error.
I do not have "My Bluetooth" area like all the FAQs on this say, and I have tried the updates to no avail. Any ideas?
Thanks!

have you tried the software that came with your dell bt dongle instead to transfer ringtones and wallpaper??

Are you sure you're not using the SP2 BT stack?

Ry Ry - yes, I am sure.
Chorro - I have tried to use the sw to transfer mp3,but not wallpaper or ringtones.

You'll also have to enable the DUN profile (dial up networking) on the phone. Do a search for how to do that. MPT needs the phone set up as a bluetooth modem to communicate with it.

Yep, that is enabled...
