are these settings the same for a v3i? does your media.net work fine?

Posted by: avi8tir

I have a V3i and am using these setting and media net DOES NOT work properly. it gains access, but doesnt display correctly. I dont know what the fix is either.

try this site.

https://secure.mouse2mobile.com/cli...iguredevice.asp

just select the razor as your phone

i got these WAP settings from cingular customer service. they should work for media net.

there is a tutorial and OTA setup out there that razr and some slvr people have had success with. check them here:

Walk Thru WAP

my slvr is different than the razr when it comes to getting to web sessions. instead of going through Menu Button > settings, i have to go Menu Button > Web Access > Web Session.

Over The Air setup

(this didnt work for me becase after recieving the browser message sent from the support site, my L7 was unable to add a new web sessions profile because it had the maximum amount to profiles.. the phone comes with about a dozen other profiles. i can only manually add ONE through the phone. which i used for the WAP settings above

Worked like a champ!

Thanks!

Hi, I have an unlocked (at&t) nokia 6200, could I use one of the nokia's listed in the over the air setup from cingulars site so i can use my wap features?
thanks
tom

Took my new unlocked L7 out of box, went to Cingular site for set up help, couldn't get browser to work. Went to your post and 5 minutes later I was on the web. Many thanks for your post.

Posted by: warhay

how does one get into the website thats does it ota... it promtps me to but in a username and password but there is no where to sign up

Posted by: ghstintheshell

I have the same problem

Posted by: droisman

Go to Cingular.com, then go to drop down under support, choose phone/device support, put in slvr 7 and they give detailed settings (which did not work for me) Using the settings on this thread got me right on.

Posted by: pbdyhcky189

For setting up MMS on the last part there is no option to choose Media Net.

and for setting up wap i have no option to create a new profile.

Posted by: droisman

These are the instructions, (taken from the post), just follow directions and you'll be fine.

MMS Setup

Menu Button > Messages > Menu Button > Message Setup > MMS Message Setup > Server Info > highlight one of the servers and press Menu Button > Edit > enter the following:

Service Name: MMS
Server Name: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Web Session Name: MEdia Net

MMS should work.

Posted by: pbdyhcky189

yes but for the Web Session Name, i have no option to choose MEdia Net.

Posted by: droisman

Why is that important? Does your phone get on the internet and do you have messaging, if so get on with your life.

Posted by: pbdyhcky189

actually i dont have MMs.

Posted by: xliner247

I'd like to know why you can't change the name on existing profiles AND how you can't just delete all of them?

I haven't tried OTA yet but if it says that you can only add one extra profile that's gonna be a problem since I already added a profile for GPRS from a Swedish provider when I was there this summer...

Posted by: jetd

To quote from an earlier post, "5 minutes later".. it's working!

Posted by: amarzano

I have a U6 Pebl and typed the above items. I get a message "No GPRS available" when launching a browser. I can send Text Messages, but not MMS (ie photos..).. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Posted by: jrsjr

ota support is available thru your online account. log on, at the top highlight my account and click on phone/device, on the next page on the left click on more support, use the slvr l7 and you'll get the settings ota.

Posted by: amarzano

I choose the Slvr l7 settings. - still no love.. :-( When sending a message - I get the 3 tones on the phone (like- the number you reached is no longer in service tones..)

The L7 settings are very different from the ones at the begining of this thread..

Is the Pebl the same as the L7? I notice some of the set up screens are a little different.. ie - the Web Access is it's own icon and not under settings - as the L7 setup suggests..

Posted by: amarzano

I'm sorry for not mentioning this earlier.. I am a Cingular BLUE (former ATT) customer. That might be why these are not working for me.. Anyone know the MMS settings for a Blue customer?

Posted by: jk5598224

I am Blue Customer with Mmode on a SLVR L7 (unclocked). Are the setting the same for media net.

How do I configure MMODE, TEXT MESSAGING, MMS on the L7?

so the Web Session Name doesn't need to be MEdia Net?

I figured it out, you need to set up the web browser first, you'll then be able to manually setup the MEdia Net, and the option will be there for MMS

Posted by: dobiegillis

So you have to have a cingular account to use their OTA settings now? What a pain. I'm trying to set up the settings on this slvr to give to a friend.

Posted by: crestar8

I have an L9 slvr but this still helped me out greatly to unlock my phone. I can now get on to the at&t/cingular media mall but now it says that my device isn't supported for purchases on the media mall. Can this be fixed?

Posted by: jetd

Is AT&T your service provider? If so, you should be able to purchase. I have never purchased anything from the MediaMall, but if I wanted to and could not, I would call AT&T customer service and ask them what the problem is...

As you may have noticed, the settings for a given carrier are the same regardless of what phone you have. You have different locations to enter the settings in different phones. AT&T uses security certificates on the software, ringtones and games it sells. If your phone is not an AT&T or Cingular phone, do not purchase and try to install these items. The installation will fail and youmay be stuck with the cost or one month's subscription. DirectBill will only reverse one mistake per billing cycle.
