Cingular 2125 Text Msg Issue

I am not able to send out a text message however I can REPLY to a text message sent to me.

I never called in to activate my phone I just popped in my sim card and starting using it. Can this be the reason I can't initiate a text message and only reply to them?

Can you provide more detail about the problem you're having? Any error messages you're receiving, what steps you take to get the error, etc.

The only "error message" I get is "Message Cannot Be Sent."

Steps I'm taking are:

Start>Messasaging>Text Messaging>New>Menu>Add Recipient> then I type my message>Send.

when I got mine, I couldn't use txt messaging either. I had to call cingular and they told me the feature was turned off.
