How do I disable beep when turning RAZR on silent using smartkey?

Whenever I set my phone on silent using the smart key buttons on the side of the phone, it always makes a loud beep before the phone is set to silent. I find this kind of ironic since the reason most people set their phone to silent is because they are in a quiet environment...ie class, meetings, etc. I find this beep extremely annoying, especially when i'm in class so i was wondering if there is an alternative shortcut way to setting my phone on silent.

use p2k tools

tools --> change volume and change the system tone to low. the default of the system tone is 8 (which i think it is pretty high)

you can google search the "p2k tools".

I had the same issue. I frequently will change the volume to silent or vibrate when I am in a meeting and the soft key is usless because it is so loud. What I did is assign the "Ring Styles" menu to the right arrow key. I press it once to see the current style and again a few times to get the desired style. Then I press the red "End" button.

I think you are right that this loud noise makes the function useless. Also the fact that the button will only change the ring style if the phone is open makes no sense (when the phone is closed, I can only see but not change the ringstyles).

I noticed that there is a way to change the ring style w/o opening the phone:

1: Press on the big left oustide key to see the current profile.
2: Press on the small left outside key to change the profile.

The problem however remains that when using the big left key it makes a lsound when the profile is "Loud" or "Soft". I am not able to get P2K Tools to run, but I have P2KMan running. Is there a seem edit to turn off the volume of that button?

This is an issue I've disliked about Moto phones for a long time. Fortunately, there may be hope for the future. I just picked up a V360 a couple of weeks ago, and that sound is GONE!!
