NorCal users w/HP 6515--advice?

This is meant primarily for Cingular users w/the HP 6515 PPC phone in Northern California, specifically the North Bay Area (tho others feel free to weigh in).

How is your RF strength? How is the voice quality? (I.e. "tinny" or full-ranged, static-free or w/static, crackles, etc., earpiece loud enough, and so on.)

How would you compare to other phones you've had?

For example: In my case, I started out on Cingular w/a Moto MPx220. It never sounded very good, even after a ROM upgrade. I finally XBM'd it, and the new one sounded better, even tho it had the same ROM version. Still, it wasn't all that great. Recently I got a Nokia 6682 w/the new f/w, and it's miles better than the MPx on voice quality, and somewhat better on RF. For voice quality, the Nokia has little or no background hiss or static, and the voice sound itself is fuller. Still, nice as it is, I'd like a Windows phone.

If any of you currently w/HP 6515 had either the MPx220 and/or the Nokia 6682, AND you live in Northern Cal. (lots of requirements, I know!), I'd appreciate you checking in here w/how you feel the 6515 stacks up.

just wondering, why do you want a windows phone? well anyway the 8125 will be released sometime and will run on wme2005 while the hp is on 2003. also the reviews in the pocketpc forum for this phone hasn't been too great.

Just got mine today. Clarity is great. Not very tinny, though the earpiece is not all that loud. All in all I'd compare it to my RAZR -- minus the volume. It seems very good.

This phone is by far the coolest phone I've had in awhile... The signal strength seems to be on par with my Nokia 8801- no dropped calls as of yet. I'd suggest looking into Microsoft Voice Command from Handango or Pocket Gear. You'll like the phone even more. Enjoy!

I have been waiting for th 8125 to come out. After a two month wait, I have started looking at the 6515. I have come to realize that this phone is for business users. Which is what I am. I don't care about playing movies or games. I need a powerful PIM, email and GPS is the kicker for me. I drive 35k+ miles a year and would love GPS to help get me from appointment to appointment. Especially when I travel to cities I don't normally go to.

As for reviews look at the reviews on CNet and other sites. The users reviews are praising this device.

So if you are looking for the latest toy, get a Razr or whatever. If you need something for business get a Black Berry, Treo or HP hw6515.

Just my $.02
