Sound problems with my VX8100...

My ringtones and sounds are stuttering when played... has anyone else had this problem, or know what I should do to remedy it?
I can't take it back to Verizon, because they're no longer my carrier... thinking about putting the phone up on E-bay to get top dollar, but don't want to screw someone with a busted phone since ringtones are so important to everyone.
Any info at all would be helpful. Thanks!

Something is probably broken that can't be fixed. There should be an LG warranty good for a year after the phone was made. Take off the battery, and look at the S/N number. The first three numbers will show you the month and year the phone was made. For example, 507; seventh month of 2005.
