do you guys use business cards? how do they work for you and how and where did you get them printed?? thanks

Posted by: celltechy

i dont work for cingular but i can imagine it being a problem as far as copyrights and stuff if you dont get it done threw cingular. No printing company can reproduce the cingular logo without explicit consent from the owner.

im not sure who we go through but we havnt had a problem at all with this. we have our cards printed up through a 3rd party company.

and cards DO work really well! i usually toss in 3-5 cards into my customers bag before they leave.. i get great referrals!

just remember.. the nicer/helpful you are.. the more refferals you get.

and that = $$$$$$$$$$$$

i hand it orange side up

Posted by: sevensinz777

the cards work ... im bilingual in a very specific asian language, but very common around my area... so having that extra on it works as far as referals... also i use the business cards to get chicks at night clubs *KIDDING!*

hahaha sevens... i know what you mean.. mine has a big fat "Manager" under my name.

it works.. =x hahaha

Posted by: anubis9278

it depends...my cards have my email address and lately porn has been in my inbox. So yeah it helps!!!

give them out to anyone and everyone, from there if you go out to eat put them on the bulletin board, at the grocery store put them up on the boards there, family and friends, go to clubs and such meet people and give it to them, network is really the answer.

Posted by: ehandke

have you guys found alot of success using these things and do you put you own business number on there where they can reach you directy??

Hi there. Anything that would put your name out there to family and friends that you have helped would help. But if you are going to do that remember that if your customer has a bad expirence with you they will tell everyone they know. So make sure first that you help the customer out to the best of your ability. As far as putting a number on there, the only thing if I did put a contact number on there would be the cell number that you carry, so that if you want to answer it you can or just let it go to VM. If you do that you may have customers calling you at anytime during the day or night, when you have personal affairs and basically you are putting yourself on 24 hr, 365 day a year tech support. So that can benefit in some ways but I have only given that out on certain customers that I know. But again it just depends on how you want to work that...

I realize now in your other post, you got a retail sales job for a corporate store, not working in SALES for Cingular Coporate.

Anyways, there are positives and negatives to the corporate vs indirect

Mafiazz, you just need to contact your master or the owner of your location to get more information on getting business cards . I DONT KNOW ANY SUCCESSFUL RETAIL LOCATION THAT DOESNT HAVE BUSINESS CARDS.

I am assuming you are young and havent done much sales, so my best advice to you is to use everything you can to remind your customer of your name and contact information .

Dont feel bad because you are not corporate and you dont get the fancy shirts or pens, truth is Indirect is a huge part of cingular business and you guys can do what corporate wishes they can do.. which is discount phones and offer freebies =)

So when you say your work for corporate, which channel are you referring to ? Direct B2B ? Corporate AE ?

Sorry if I misunderstood, please clarify.

Posted by: ehandke

I originally posted about this. Cingularz, you gave great advice. I am trying to get some business cards printed up and I want to make sure that I use them effectively. Any other advice would be very helpful.

No problem, listen.. I understand its not easy, the life of sales is not for all. But it can be, and when it is, it can also be very rewarding.

What other job can you set your own salary?

My only other advice for you is to take your time, do everything you can to learn more about the business, stay competitive and improve your sales skills through 3rd party resources.

Good luck, wish you much success.
