Just wanted to write here to state that the Cingular store in my mall in Ann Arbor is closing as of today. I wonder will those employees be employed elsewhere in the company. Personally, I do not know of any other Cingular stores in the area that are not exculsive dealers or agents....not more corporate stores in the A2 market. What is ironic.......the Radio Shack in the mall just started selling Cingular products in December and less than one month later, the corporate store is closing. Sad for those employees............
Good news is that's one less wireless carrier in the mall.....good for us (a Legacy Nextel now Sprint corporate store). Later this year, the VZW kiozk is leaving too
for the corporate store location on another place in A2.
Gloating over, now the real deal. Is this.....the closing of a corporate store.....now a real experiment behalf of the big 4 wireless corporations to see if closing stores and allowing agents and dealers to sell their phones.....would allow them to cut overhead (corporate employees and their benefits) in exchange for agents and dealers they do not have to pay these cost for?
Interesting thought........looking for comments. Thanks.

they did just the opposite in So Cal. They fired all the non exclusive agents December 1. Either you're exclusive or you cannot sell Cingular. we'll see what works better
