It will show you what tower your phone is using whether it's an 850 or 1900 tower, what the signal strength of all the nearest towers in your neighbourhood are, if your call is encrypted, what voice codec your current call is using (AMR or EFR)....etc. The Engineering Mode as carsmovies pointed out is a flash for internal use only.

In essence, all Net Monitor capable Nokias have the firmware to display it. They are only told not to. Firmwares that are set to allow it from the beginning are no different from those that are changed later. By the way, Mordy, my business partner is going you-know-where in a few weeks to spend a weekend there and check things out. It may be more probable than we thought before. ![]() |
