AIM on a proxy?

hey all, i am looking into getting the 5.99 t-mobileweb for my sister, and i'm giving her a treo 600. i wanted to know of a good AIM client that would allow me to use the proxy required or change the port number in order to connect without the $19.99/month plan.

You could use a SMS-based AIM client. That would avoid the data connection all together.
I've heard that VeriChat is compatible with T-Zones. Chatter might be.
