I was getting very serious over the summer about opening a multi-carrier store (brick and mortar) on long island, but things didn't work out. Now the oppurtunity is presenting itself again. I do not have any experience in the cell phone industry by the way. So here are my questions.
1. Did you guys work for cell phone stores before opening your own?
2. Continuation of 1st ?, is this experience crucial? Or can I learn to open contracts ,add lines, and etc. by myself (pretty easy)?
3. How are payouts with Cingular, Tmobile, and Sprint/Nextel? I've heard they dropped. More specifically, how much do you make (profit) with let's say opening a new contract for a customer, $200?
4. How many lines do you guys sell a month? My rent would be around $1200, etc. just trying to figure out the break even.
5. Do you think master agents would be turned off by contracting out to someone like me who doesn't have any experience? The location of the store and the town is great with very little competition.
I have some contact information, but I haven't called yet. Don't want to waste their time and give myself a bad reputation by bothering them.
I want to thank everyone for any kind of input. Investing in something like this is a huge ordeal for me. Thanks again.

Hi again, I hope I am in the right thread to ask this. I don't want to upset anyone. Any kind of input would be nice, it's not neccessary to answer all the questions.
