Verizon announced a bug in version seven and has instructed all stores to discontinue flashing phones until the source code is rewritten. Anew version maybe ready late today or Tuesday.

Check with your local store, call corp., this is the correct news on the vx8100 version 7 flash

7 works in most places, from what we've been reading here (in the LG forums). v07 fixes several current bugs...

I wanna see where u saw that Verizon announced this news? Is it in some sort of article on the net that I can read? V07 seems to be working just fine for me and I just had it flashed a few hours ago.

From last week - Monday, January 9th:

AND
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060110...ireless_music_1

From article:
Quote:
The V Cast upgrade disables that capability for now, though users still can convert music copied from CDs and other non-digitally protected MP3 files into a Windows Media format and then transfer them to the phone with a USB cable.

Verizon dismissed accusations on certain Web logs that this decision was made for any ulterior profit motive such as forcing users to repurchase music through the V Cast store.

Instead, the company said, the MP3 capability was temporarily disabled so that it can be integrated into the V Cast application, rather than appearing as a separate application that might confuse customers.

Verizon Wireless also emphasized that the upgrade is voluntary: Customers who'd prefer to keep their current MP3 capabilities over an immediate upgrade to V Cast Music can wait until the next edition of the application is released at an undetermined date.

The company also dismissed assertions that customers aren't being informed that they'll lose certain capabilities with the upgrade.

There was a link to Verizon's site with the info too, somewhere. I just spent over 30 mins tracking those 2 above links down. Time to eat - I'm hungry!

why is it that no where in the Manual does it mention "Mp3"?

Posted by: scrimp212

coz verizon doesnt want u to know about it. They want u to only know about Get It Now to get mp3s

Posted by: deadwrong03

so on the new MOD phones, can u put .wma or mp3 songs in the actual phone in the my music folder? (without a memory card) if so about how many songs?
