i've finished my trial period of backupbuddy and am ready to purchase it, however i had one last question about backupbuddy before i ordered the reg key

what does it do?

i mean i know it backs stuff up, programs and media and contacts etc.... but isnt that what hotsync does? is the difference that backupbuddy does programs too??

can someone clarify the difference if i were to hot sync after a hard reset vs reloading things with backupbuddy after a hard reset??

thanks

I use Reco Backup. The difference for me is my treo never crashes while I'm sitting at my desk and can do a hotsync to get my stuff back. Kind of like my heat never breaks in the summer.

To my knowledge, one advantage of using BackupBuddy is that you do not have to be behind your computer to recover your data. It is backed up on your card.

is this all that backupbuddy does vs hotsynching? anyone else know?

What else are you looking for? You'll find this service invaluable if it ever crashes far from home.

im looking for nothing more than as full an understanding of what the product does/is capable of before i purchase it - so its like having a backup (hotsync) whenver you're away from your computer.. thank you for the info guys

i dont travel enough to purchase it - at first i thought it was the only way to have a backup ready in case of a crash, but the more i learned, the more i realized thats what hotsync does..that will suffice for now, i dont think i need backupbuddy just yet..thanks for the help
