Hi

Im just wandering has anyone tried mp4 video playback on the v3i yet?, is the sound clear etc?

Also does the MP4 file have to be converted in a certain way? to play on the phone, so far I've got a few videos, in MP4 format.

Thanks

download a program called xilisoft
it's for putting videos on ipod video but you can just use the files you convert and put them on the v3i

Ok this thread is changing subjects already. All IM asking is how well does MP4 video play on the phone, not how you make them.

I know they work on the CDMA Motos...

I think people are talking about converting so maybe you could try it out for yourself.

hey i just tried an mp4 video...it works but you gotta make sure the picture size is 176x144...sound was pretty decent but the video i had was low quality so i'm not really sure...i used that software xilisoft to convert an AVI into MP4 and i had to change picture size as well...4 and a half minute video was about 10mb...not bad...

Yea ive finally got a decent video using that software. guess it depends on what size and codecs etc are used, because ive got some videos made with with different program, and they show up as corrupted.

what other video files work on this player? i never really thought of watching videos on the phone but its kinda cool...

as far as i know almost all the videos you download will be in avi or mpg and you'll have to convert it yourself. on the up side, you can convert anything to mp4 so it doesn't make a difference

is there any difference in quality between mp4 and 3gp? or are they the same just a different format?

MP4: Bigger file size, Excellent video qaulity dependning on resolution, Clean sound qaulity
3gp: Smaller file size, Chalky video qaulitym Dirty sound qaulity.

Note: Can any recommend what programs I case use to convert avi, wmv etc to mp4.

It depends on the settings....

Posted by: KelJaden

Acutall ive been using PSP video, but the problem is that the lowest setting for resolution. You can only set it at 320x240, whici is still too big for a mobile phone. I jus want a mp4 converter that will work for phones, and not have any limits like length wise.

Posted by: speedy0156

even if it's too big doesn't it resize it when you play it?

Posted by: KelJaden

Don think so, anyway some else on this thread has confirmed it, and so have i. i think its its gotta be 176x144 or whaterever it is, so that the phone can handle it, its actuall makes more sense. every video ive tried from the psp converter has come as conrrupted.
