Moto Phone tools for the PEBL v6

Hi, Just got my Pebl from T-Mobile. I bought the Motorola Phone Tools off Moto's site, and plugged in my pebl via a standard mini usb cable. The software doesnt recognize the phone, and moto's support has been unresponsive to say the least. Has anyone got the phone tools to work using the pebl? Do I really need to buy their official cable?

Did you update the MPT to the lastet version? Once I did that it reconize my V360.

Yeah I was running 4.0.4, here is the solution to my problem after waiting 2.5 hrs on support:

Go to Device Manager, find your PEBL under other devices, should be marked with a ?

Right click the PEBL, go to properties, reinstall driver

specify the location for the driver, mine was in /program files/moto phone tools/info/winxp

restart moto phone tools and let it find the phone...

Hope this helps all the other pebl users. has anyone else got this phone yet?

Yup - got a uk version - had v4.02 on CD in the box and as an ex-V3
owner(read hacker :->) mine MPT installation was just an upgrade. So when
I plugged in the U6 it connected first time !!!
Liveupdate to v4.04b was adifferent matter of course - good old MPT !!!!!

when i try this i always get "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

does anyone know how to fix that error message or get PEBL usb drivers that actually *work* ?

That sounds like one of the classic un-install it all and start again.
Use the drivers from the CD in the pebl box and all should be ok.
Install MPT first then PST.

Alternative to the CD drivers is the diver kit on motomodders (the 2.9 one)

MPT detects the phone just fine but when i turn on p2kman it tries to install the drivers

i've tried uninstalling and starting again from the MPT drivers on the cd, also updated ones provided somewhere else in another pebl thread

all of them give Code 10 errors when i try to install a "USB Composite Device" (what windows detects after turning on p2kman)

nevermind, after spending all last night and all day today ... i tried the lowest tech solution i could think of

it was weird cuz MPT was working just fine on that USB port but not p2k drivers

i switched the USB cable to another spot on the computer and it worked. for no damn reason it worked. driver install, p2kman/p2ktools, everything.

Where can I download the updated drivers? Just got my PEBL last night. Man, this thing is tiny compared to my Sidekick II =)
