ringtone problem

whenever i make a ringtone using either roxio/or dbpoweramp and i put it
on my i870, i get this wierd feedback/distortion and it makes the ringtones
sound stupid. i even lowered the volume and it still does it. anyone know
the cause or have similar problems?
