Is there any way of telling where one signed up?

Is there a way to look up when and where a customer signed up for service? For example, if someone buys their phone from radio shack and then comes to me a week later and wants me to show them how to use the phone. I don't want them wasting my time. Even though they are cingular customers, I don't feel it is my job to research and learn every aspect of the product for them. I do feel I should help those that bought from me or my store though. These are the ones that keep us open for business.

Sorry for the rant, but is there a way to tell?

I don't know the answer but I think it's funny that at&t's old billing system (axys) had the info to tell you where they got it from and what the agents name was.

It's amazing how powerful axys was, it always seems like companies go backwards when they come out with new systems for it's employees.

How often do you think that happens? Also, they may turn out to be future customers of yours if you help them.

Whether you want to or not, if you are a COR rep, it is your job to provide customer service, whether the customer bought the phone with your store or not.

Think of it this way - if they come in, do your best to provide them with great service AND have them leave the store with accessories and/or features added to their account. If not, build rapport with them so that in the future, they come back to you only.

If you have care or telegence (depending on your market) then you should be able to see the POS.

Ya it is a drag but part of the job . I try to use it as an accesory and feature sale . I sell a alot features ( total dollar for me and % for SAM to keep company /MGR happy ) -- we are not a big Sub store have to make money somehow .
I will say " How come you didnt get the Internet package with that phone Sir ? and then stare at them just alittle . It is a abit of a command but it works . Evey month I make top 10 out of 50 reps for dollar and % in features .
If they are respectful and nice about it I bet they will come back again to buy something . But if they have an attitude or are rude - beat it buddy go back to RS and ask them .
In CARE you can memorize the codes of stores near by but RS code who knows ?

As a new COR guy, I can confirm this - my comp code begins with 100 and has two letters afterwards.

if a cust doesn't remember where they buy their phones, which happens alot, I call cust care to find out the comp code and if you're lucky, they'll tell you the name of the dealer too! if it was recent, you can view notes on account and see the act/upgrade and there will be a comp code attached
