Why is the "ROGERS" banner off centered?

Hey all,

I was wondering if someone could answer this for me.
I have two (2) friends who have come up to me asking me why their "ROGERS" Carrier logo on their phones is "Off Centered". (see image below)

They have this problem when placing their SIM cards into any GSM phone. My V3i for example displays
the "ROGERS" logo correctly (centered) when my SIM is used but when I insert my friend's SIM into
my phone the "ROGERS" logo is off centered slightly.

Could somebody give me insight or an answer to this?

If I had to guess, I'd say that the carrier banner information might be stored on their SIM, and (if that's true - I don't know that it is) that it's got a bunch of trailing spaces, like "ROGERS<sp><sp><sp>" that are making it show to the left when it's supposed to be centred - it's centreing it, but the spaces on the right edge are making it look off-kilter.
