If you're a stickler for detail, grab seem 0171_0001 and change the text in there to say "Quad-Band GSM" - this is what displays in the Settings > Phone Status > Other Information > Technology menu. Restart your phone and you'll have 850 MHz support. You will likely not be able to register on any of those towers, though, due to lack of roaming agreements |

| First off, set all of the bits in SEEM 0025 to on, hex value "FF". This is the way TMO is now shipping their phones. Guarantees that all bands the phone is capable of supporting are enabled. |

you said . woudln't that depend on what flex version or software version your phone has? do all TMo v300's come from factory with the same versions regardless of manufacture date or whatever? My phone is not flashed or flexed here's are my versions: software version: TRIPLETS G_0B.09.1FR_B flex: GS9V300TMBO2NA105 dsp s/w version: 62E2E000 |

i still don't pick up a signal at home so i'm guessing TMo has no roaming agreements with any local towers. I'm going to call TMo Customer Srvc. today and try and talk to someone about it, cz on the TMo website, PERSONAL COVERAGE map thingie it shows me clearly in the green with good signal. This leaves me with several conclusions: a- Maybe doing the SEEM edits to 0025 and 0032 don't give the v300 quad band capability like ppl state. b- maybe i need to flex or flash for those seem edits to work. c- the personal coverage map is not realistic and i just don't get signal here from TMos tower or anyone else's. Like I said, my sister has Cingular and has full bars in the house! Sprint has little to no srvc. any other ideas? |

Do you have 911 service when you have "no signal"? This would at least tell you if you are getting any GSM signals. If you want to enable the phone to display "Emergency Only" under those circumstances, you need to set bit 6 to on in offset 4A of SEEM 0032 (from http://www.xlr8.us/hofo/map.txt. That will at least tell you if the phone is getting a GSM signal that you cannot roam on. |
