Various 903SH made in December can not be unlocked..

the imei starts with: new IMEI number: 358141/00/1******/*

if it starts with that.. it can't be unlocked.. so don't buy these ones. it can't be unlocked righ tnow... so.... becarefulw hen buying locked ones.

just another security lock sharp threw on there. this time. its a bit more testy.. cause its a type of unlock that we need the manufacture's bootlog inorder to crack

all the ones i sell are fully unlocked.. so its alright. i've bene double checking the imei's and checking each phone before send out that it works

Hi Timsta, I have read a lot of forums about 903sh unlocking, and I think you are an expert on flashing... So, can you show me how to unlock a JP 903sh? I have downloaded SPST_V10_902_802 too but someone have trouble with this soft so I havent use it yet... Do you remember a guy called deviljr? His cell has been killed by that soft and I think he has talked to u about that trouble... Now, what soft can I use to unlock my JP 903SH.

i can't show you. you can go to total multi server's website and buy a cable and credit and unlock it that way, do at your own risk. SPST program is for people who know what they are doing. i'm not going into details about it.

newest update... decemeber editions with that imei can't be unlocked.. AND all of the few batches that were produced in early january.. can't be unlocked either. that means ALL January editions can't be unlocked as of yet.

Hi Timsta,

this is my first posting. If the december batch is unlockable, then that is saying that anything after that will undoubtly be unlockable as well. I just sent mine to Hong Kong to have it unlock. Have you heard of it being unlocked as yet?

so many dishonest sellers around lately.. even in japan.. my distributor was sent some december editions that can't be unlocked even tho he specifically asked for proper ones. causing delays.. and confusion. awful awful market

Or just write *#06# and the Imei will be displayed.

There is a lot of dishonest unlockers in Japan, fortunately many of them never make it to the eglish forums.

we are all hoping that it will be okay soon. its using a new type of locking system persay and guys are working on it 24/7 tryin to figure it out.

the 804SH is close to completiong for unlocking though.

hopefully yours is not the with the imei and not a january edition so you can use it soon.

I'm going to e-mail the seller soon and find out if it is that batch. I really think it is from the batch you mentioned - all other phones I see have that IMEI. If that's the case , do you think that it will be okay within a month ? I'd hate to stare at a paperweight for such a long time.

This makes a lot of sense now that I see some sellers on auctions.yahoo.co.jp make it really notible that the phone can be unlocked. yah. you will have to wait a bit to get your phone unlocked. it will be done.. the question is when. this lock is alot toughter than most of unlockers have encountered before (sharp really doens't like us) and it can only get worse when the 904 and 904 come out.

I hope it's not too long. I just checked the auction I won and it says it's a February edition. I might consider buying another one if the price isn't too bad- maybe I can sell that one off when I can unlock it. I saw another one with 358141/00/4******/* from September or October - this should be ok for sure , right ?

jeez so glad i got my new 903 (early Dec build, w/ unlockable IMEI) unlocked recently...
i was so worried when gabbie told me he was having trouble with my phone...
but gabbie came through and got the job done...

In Janpan, 903 is in short supply. You may buy at Vodafone shop which is quite expensive. To be sure that your 903 can be unlock, you may buy 903 for oversea and ask for unlock it at the shop. However, I heard that only some shop have 903 for oversea; At Osaka...
You can buy already unlock phone in HK. In Thailand, you may find unlocked 903 which may cost of about 18000 bath (450 US dollar) but they are almost sold out.

Is it in Vodafone Shop or in some reseller shops?
I'm in Osaka right now, I planned to buy 903sh but when i read from here that Dec. released phones can not be unlocked, I postponed to get one. So I'm still waiting for the news that it can be unlock now. Damn, I wish I bought one last november. And oh no.... maybe June or July, Docomo will launch HSDPA phones... Can't decide which one i'll buy to replace my old 902sh phone.

*sigh*.. my friend just came over from Japan and gave me a 903sh today... made after December... ohhh.. the paaaaiiinnn... the phone is so nice I don't want her to return it when she goes back, but if it can't be unlocked I guess it's pretty much worthless to me.

I guess the question is, will anyone be able to unlock it, or will people not even bother to try once the 904 comes out in april.. it's only a month away.

hrmmm.. you think so? I was talking with one of the guys at gabby's palce and he was saying that it most likely wont be. He mentioned something about vodafone chasing down the comp's that are unlocking the phones over in china, and no one really wants to touch them as a result.

I dunno... I've got like 5 days to figure out if I want to keep the phone (I REALLY REALLY do want to) and -HOPE- that it will be unlocked, or just have my friend return it and get my money back (or most of it).

I dunno... welp... if it's gonna be going that way and the security will be implemented on other phones... I guess they're going to have to figure a way of cracking it sooner or later. I honestly thought that different manufacturers used different forms of locking (no set standard). Obviously I have no clue on how locking on cell's work (hough I would like to know more

).

from what I understand.. it's the same locking system from Dec on... once it's cracked... the following months are all pretty much fair game. I can't see Sharp dumping in something new if the current one ain't cracked yet... would just cost more money... as they say.. if it ain't broke... don't fix it

Hi there. I was once using unlocked 902 before but sucks things happens. I freakin' forgot my phone in a cab. Now I'm using T-mobile $20 phone lol. 902 had lots of problems like when opening the menu some message keeps on popping up so had to flash it to different firm or something. About this 903, I heard it can be unlocked and still able the Jap Lag. Is this possible at all? Would it cause any kind of bit of problems? Please help me Timsta

solution for 903 was never work of zulea (usb smart) solution has been the same, approach different (cracking bootloader)

the toshiba 904s?

some sample shots from the 904t didn't look as good as the quality of the sharp 903s..hmm...although i like the look of the 904t maybe i should go for 903 instead for better camera...

Then again it was only two shots, maybe I should wait till people take some more shots with the camera.

The Toshiba is said to have a CMOS for imaging for the camera and the Sharp is CCD. Is either one beter than the other? One thing the Sharp has that I haven't been able to confirm for the Toshiba is that the Sharp can also optical zoom...

there is no direct direct unlock of the january edition/feb/march/april editions (yes there is reports of an april). the march and april editions are a bit iffy for unlock.. as are the other ones too actually. its like.. u either get a booby trapped phone or not.. not very fun to unlock
