MPT via USB to Razr = No Internet

I am trying to use my razr (42.0ER) to connect to the internet. If I pop the sim into my aircard I can connect fine. When I try with the razr connected via usb to my laptop running mpt v3.28, I get an error 734, ppp link was teminated.
I can browser the web on my phone, but I have not been able to check email yet.
The mpt setup asks for a CID setting, what does that mean. At this point I think it is a phone setup/config issue.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You probably need the settings from your carrier... With GPRS data connections, you need to dial *99# and supply a username/pw, which is different from carrier to carrier.
