MPX220 Internet Access

Just got an unlocked black mpx 220 (Windows Mobile 2003) ...like the phone BUT one problem...it was manufactured for the Asian market (I'm in the U.S.) and it does not have the "PDA Connect" (Settings > More > Data connections > Internet Connections) configuration needed to access the Internet to utilize it's Web browsing capabilities. Cingular has been no help...and Motorola has given me about three different answers...last one being go to a Cingular Service Center and have them flash the new software/updates onto the phone. I've tried updating it via Active Sync (it has the v1.39 on it but I can't get it to update to the v1.43...when I run the udate utlity it says there are no available software updates)
Anyone got any ideas?
