V525 won't start-up

Hey,
Sorry if this issue has been raised before, I've tried searching but found no problem similar to mine. I have my v525 over a year and haven't really been messing with it (changed the gain table ages ago but that's it) and it has been working fine (except for the earpiece going but I solved that thanks to this forum) until suddenly today it just stopped working.

I was writing a text message when the phone just froze up. I tired turn it off and it didn't work so I pulled out the battery and tried to start up. The first time the welcome screen started but then the phone shut off. The second time the keypad lit and froze there. I removed the battery again but now nothing happens when I try to power up. Assuming the battery was dead I tried charge it and it wouldn't work. I also tried a spare battery which let me input my pin before freezing and shutting off. This one will also not charge.

So now my phone will either a) Not start at all or b) If I fiddle with the battery, taking it in and out, the phone may get as far as the pin input before freezing.

Has anyone any idea? Is it time to just buy a new phone?

Thanks in advance.
