Had to return 2125; Need a cheap phone

Okay, as you guys can see, I'm not a newb. I actually have had the 2125 for about a month. However, financial considerations cause me to return it and get a cheap phone. I've looked into getting the smt5600, the nokia 6820, and the blackberry 7200 refurb, but all of these require me cancelling my service (i.e. loosing my number and resigning with cingular) I won't explain all the jazz about why, but what I will say is that the only phones I can get without cancelling and resigning are the non-refurbs phones on the website. Any suggestions? I would prefer one that can sync with outlook. The nokias can, but you have to buy a 50 dollar syncing cable. What a scam!!!! You know it doesn't cost them near that. That why I really want standardized connections, but cant get that with nokia.

Sorry about your financial woes. I'm sure MANY can empathize with you.

The 6820 is a great phone and if memory serves me correctly, you can sync that phone using it's IR port...if your computer has IR. If it doesn't, you can purchase an USB IR adapter for about $15 from CompUSA. If I'm mistaken and you can't sync using IR, purchase an after-market cable. I know dealers who sell them for $20. You choke if you knew what they paid for them (Less than $10! )

Thanks for the reply gps, but right now I don't think I could buy apart from cingular (which I would have to do to get the 6820). New question though, I've been offered a phone by a guy here on howard. If I bought if from him, could I just use it and save my discount for later? Like for the 8125 in the summer?

You sure you know what you want? Sorry, I had to.

I'm a die-hard Nokia fan, but if those were my choices, I'd go with the SMT5600, as I favor the fact that this is a smartphone over almost anything else (apart from RF performance, of course, where the Nokia should rule, but the Audiovox is not terrible). But that's just the perennial geek in me.

Now, Zach, if you could not afford the 2125 (I know exactly where you are, sorry to hear), are you sure you will be able to afford the 8125 ($$$) by summer?

As a student my money situation is shifty. In the summer I will have an engineering internship that will most likely pay quite well (I've allready had an offer for 20-24/hr). Durring the school year however, I can't work much (once a week at a fast food job).

In that situation, you should not be able to afford a monthly cell phone bill, let alone an expensive phone. Can't you go with whatever free offer they have?

Also, if I were you, once I was making decent money, I probably wouldn't blow it on a phone as expensive as an 8125, but then, I don't know your priorities. These are things only you can decide.

Dude, I know that your not intending to, but I kind of feel like your insulting me. Anyway, I'm buying a smt5600 from a guy here on hofo, so the discussion is kind of done.
