3gp encoding for motorola ROKR E1 help

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

im having trouble with this 3gp thing, i've used heaps of tool and software converters but i always end up with the same problem, and that is i can never make a high quality 3pg for my motorola ROKR E1. when i make them high quality they stop every few seconds like the phones buffer runs out or it can't procces high quality very well

examples

High quality video (this is what im aiming for)

Low quality video (really bad to watch and can't handle it)

Now is there any way possible to get a high quality video to work on my phone, i dont care how big the file is i just want it to be the "best quality" video or are these phone just not good enough???

please guy i can't find much support anywhere or any guides to make this happen, al im asking is there a way to convert whatever format mpeg, mov etc to a high quality video for my phone so i can watch my favorite shows and not have this problem ahhhhhhhhh

any help is welcome

There is no way to encode it in higher quality if you want smooth playback. The phone just can't handle it because the trasfer rate for the memory is very low. If you want to watch the video in good quality, you should get a dedicated portable video player.

ya it has to be at like 14 fps to play smoothly... and even still mine cant hardly do that...

yah a video player would be nice i just thought these phones were suposed to be good.

also 14fps i've tried 11fps in high quality mode and still no luck
but i've herd from a friend that if i tweak some of the encoding i might be able to get it to work eg bitrates, buffers etc..

thanks for the replys
keep them coming

Try this settings. I use this settings on my v635 and its reasonably good quality and smooth play back. I also use Imtoo 3gp converter to convert the videos.

Video Codec: H263
Video Size: 176 X 144
Bit Rate: 128
Bit Rate max: Auto
Bit Rate min: Auto
Frame Rate: 29

The rest of the settings should remain default.

I use 3GP_Converter (v0.34) and the videos work well on my E815.

What settings do you use for 3gp_converter034? I can't get my tv show battlestar galactica to play. It converts and I copy it over and then it says File too big. I've tried General 3GPP+AAC with and without DIVX and it won't play. Any ideas? I have a motorola V3i.

Thanks,

Fulmitz

sorry, I'm not quite understanding what you wrote. How do you alter the settings to get 177x144? Thanks,

Fulmitz

The QCIF settings are 176x144.

Look at the Transcoding.ini file.

Thanks! I got it to work but the AMR audio stinks however it does play in my Jabra BT250v. I tried the ACC stereo and it sounds way better but won't play in my Jabra, any ideas/suggestions?

The CPU is too slow (not the memory card). But it is possible for a better quality. The best quality gives divx or xvid. You need Virtualdub for that. And at least convert the avi to mp4. Have you a small video for me? I try to encode this in good quality for an example.
