it says you have to be american provider but is there anyway around that to make it work on fido in canada or has anybody got it to work on fido

Honestly, I'm not sure. It's entirely possible that they use IP filtering to verify that it's only going out to Americans (lots of online media distribution places are doing that). It might be possible through a proxy service, but that would be rather difficult to set up since MobiTV has it's own application you use on the Treo.
Anyway, the first poster that responded was right... MobiTV isn't that great, and I've found the quality to be sub-par. If you want video content on the go, it's better just to rip some TV shows or DVDs to an XVid file, and watch them on your Treo with TCPMP.
