I don't have a Verizon data plan, so I use Quick 2 Net to access the net with my laptop. BUT!- The way I would like to give my laptop internet access on the road is using the "web sessions" feature on my phone that goes through a proxy on my home desktop (always on static IP DSL). I think this would need some kind of gateway software?
Using the Quick 2 Net connection (using phone as a modem), it's only 1.5 KiloBYTES/s (14.4 kilobits/s). My web sessions connection uses 14.4 KiloBYTES/s (144 kilobits/s). Anyone know if this is possible to use this web session's 144kbps connection to be used by my LAPTOP if using my DESKTOP as a proxy?

hi, its seems kind of pointless for you to dial or connect to the internet using gprs, then connecting back to your desktop to connect back to the internet? sorry im just no seeing the point maybe you could explain a bit better?

I currently connect to the internet using my CDMA Motorola phone by telling it to connect to my DESKTOP at home using my proxy there. I can surf the net on my phone anywhere I go with this method. Now, if I have my LAPTOP on the road, I would like to use the Internet from my phone on the remote Laptop (getting its internet from my DESKTOP computer at home). I can already use my phone to act as a modem and share its internet with the laptop using USB. BUT, when the phone behaves as a modem this uses a QNC (Quick2net) method 10x's slower than it's potential (could be full speed if I purchase a Verizon data plan). If I connect to the internet using my phone by itself, it is not acting like a modem and is 10x's faster. While I'm surfing on the phone, can I share this full speed connection with my laptop using a USB?
