MPT won't install

I've got MPT v3.19d from BVRP and the software won't install.
error messages are displayed as the installation looks like it it going to finish (I Itried to upload screenshots but the attachments are too big even with max compression - I have them if anyone wants me to mail to them):
the following files did not self-register or unregister:
c:\windows\system32\MFC42.dll
Error : ....
c:\windows\system32\MFC42U.dll
Error: ....
Then at the end, an 'unhandled exception' error:
Failed to load DLL :sfc
Setup will now now terminate
After that, I reboot and then the PhoneTools exe is not installed - not in the program list, not in c:\program files\... or anywhere!
Any ideas?
