Not receiving MMS on Windows Mobile 2003 phone

I can't view my MMS messages.

I just bought a Sierra Wireless Voq and upgraded it to Windows Mobile 2003 SE. Before I upgraded it, it had jMMS. After the upgrade it was gone. Anyone know where I can get an application or utility to view MMS messages? Preferably a free one?

Does it matter what phone I have or what service (I'm using Cingular, use to be an AT&T account). Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

WM2003SE should have MMS support built right into the Messages/Inbox program.

You need to get the settings done correctly

As for the settings, I recommend you call Sierra Wireless. Their tech support staff (of 3 people) will email you step-by-step directions on how to correctly set up MMS or mMode.

Thanks to those that replied...I ended up calling Sierra Wireless support and did get them to send me the instructions to setup MMS. Unfortunately, the guy sent me the Cingular (Orange) instructions, and I found the instructions for an Audiovox SMT 5600 on the Cingular (Blue) website...so I pieced them together and made it work. Took me an hour or so!

Great phone...I love it. Again, thanks for your help.

What settings did you use?

Below is what I got from Sierra Wireless in an e-mail. It's for Cingular Orange, not Blue. So I followed their instructions but put in the proxy, address, URLs, and other stuff from the Cingular website for the SMT 5600. It worked. Anyway, here it is:

There are two processes that must be completed in order for MMS to work - Data Connections and Messaging MMS- Profile configurations.
1. Press Home > Start > Settings > More > Data Connections > Menu > Edit Connections.
2. Press GPRS Connections.
3. Press Menu >Add. to Add GPRS configurations
4. In Description:, enter a name for the connection.
>>Cingular-MMS
5. In Connects to:, scroll to the type of network to which you will connect.
>>WAP Network
6. In Access point:, enter the information provided by the carrier.
>>wap.cingular. (lower case)
7. In User name:, enter your user name for MMS provide by the carrier.
>>WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM (All upper case)
8. In Password:, enter your password, as provided by the carrier.
>>CINGULAR1 (All upper case)
9. In Primary DNS:, enter the primary domain naming system (DNS) address (leave blank)
10. In Secondary DNS:, enter the secondary DNS address (leave blank)
11. In IP address:, enter the Internet Protocol (IP) address (leave blank)
12. Press Done to save and Add GPRS configurations.
13. Press Done to save and exit GPRS Connections.
14. Press Done to save and exit Connections.
15. In Data Connection screen, go down to WAP connection:
16. In WAP connection: scroll to the connection description just created.
>>Cingular-MMS
17. Press Done to save WAP connection.
18. Press Done to save and exit Data Connections.
19. Press Done to save and exit Settings.
MMS in Messaging Menu
1. Press Home > Start > Messaging>Media Messages
2. Press Menu>Options>Account Setup>Media Messages
3. Press Menu>Edit Connections>Menu>Add
4. In Description, enter a profile name.
>> Cingular-MMS
5. In MMSC, enter the messaging server address.

Actually that is not correct. MMS is a seperate program that integrates with the Messages/Inbox Program. Most OEM's include the Arcsoft MMS program as part of the extended ROM

Actually, I thought I needed a separate program, too...but as it turns out, it works just fine without any 3rd party software. Messaging is now setup on my phone and it uses only what's provided with MSMobile 2003 SE.
