My Cingular 2125 dials 911 with the keypad locked and the phone locked. Is there any way to prevent this? I have already dialed 911 once by mistake when the phone was in the holster.
Undoubtedly some folks are going to say "its a liability thing." Well, my last three phones did not have this problem, and this phone shouldn't either. If it can't be fixed the phone goes back, and the service gets canceled. Period. I have already called Cnglr customer service and they were less than useless (I waited on hold for 15 minutes to find that out!)

alot of new phones will do this.

I think it's a law.... you have to be able to call 911 from ANY cell phone no matter what.

yeah good luck finding a phone that doesn't do this... might be the benefit of a flip here (only)

All of the phones I've had do this.
What you need is to get the phone acclimated to the case, well, the other way around.
Try not to put the phone inside the case until you can afford to power it off. If, for example, you power off the phone and put it inside its case overnight for a week, the case will get the shape of the phone, enough to not press keys while the phone is inside the case.

You can remove it from the emergency number registry entry.
